Fundraising

The HVFD needs your help to provide the best fire and emergency medical service! Many tools and apparatus we utilize on a daily basis are quite expensive. While the number of calls for service have increased by 20% since 1996, our county funding has only increased by 10%. While the county provides some of our equipment, your donations have funded the purchases of
  • our new Brush Truck,
  • the spare ambulance at Station 24 (A248),
  • some of the extrication equipment carried on Truck 12,
  • a thermal imager, used to locate victims and hot spots in house fires,
  • the protective clothing and uniforms worn by our volunteers,
  • and a variety of supplies.
Your generous donations over the years have also been used to purchase the entire stock of CPR training equipment and supplies, making our community CPR program one of only a few in the entire country. Click on the graphic below to see just a few of the items carried on a typical ambulance, and how much they typically cost.
